Traditional Ashtanga Yoga with Christina Martini

SHALA LOCATION: Haiku Marketplace, 810 N. Haiku Road. Parking is across the True Value parking lot. Entry is through the covered lanai.

Mysore style yoga is the traditional method in which Ashtanga Yoga is taught and learned.  Mysore is NOT a lead guided class, the schedule is a rolling start where students arrive during the allotted class time, allowing enough time to complete their personal practice before the shala closes.  The students move through their own practices and lessons taught individually to them, while the teacher is present and observing the practice room and provides individual verbal and hands on assists. It is like a private yoga class in a group setting!  Plan to arrive and allow at least a minimum of 45 min to one hour and no more than one hour and a half for your practice. All levels are come, beginners are welcome, come on in or zoom in. The teacher will teach you from the very beginning if you are new to Mysore and/or the Ashtanga Yoga method, this class is a great way to get started in a comfortable environment with other students new as well.

SUNDAY ASHTANGA LED GUIDED CLASS

7:00am - 8:30am Led Full Primary Series / alternating every other Sunday with Led Intermediate Series with Christina Martini , Register Here must have weekly mysore practice to attend Sunday’s Led Class. This class is not open to drop ins. Led Guided classes are breath guided, minimum instructions to flow into and out of the postures, it may be physically challenging if you do not practice mysore ashtanga on a regular basis. Christina offers a class where all can reap the benefits of yoga with modifications and alternative for every body and mind type so be prepared to flow uninterruptedly. This class is not open for drop ins, must have a mysore practice at the shala or have studied and practice the method of ashtanga yoga to attend. This class is challenging, and will take you through the entire Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga and alternating Sunday with Intermediate Series .with less instructions on entering and exiting the postures. A deep understanding of your mysore practice, breath and movement is required for this class. Verbal and Hands on Assists will be provided throughout this class as you are led through the breath and movement of the sequence of postures.  The energy level in this class is simply amazing!  Prepare to Sweat , Move, Flow with no distractions.
